5 years ago, I'm hanging out with a group of new friends at a round table and playing a fun game. In a certain moment I had to get really vocally expressive in order to win... but I stuttered terribly and noticeably. Needless to say, I felt ashamed, weak and deep sense of embarrassment. But, as this occurrance started to happen increasingly, a deep inner whisper kept saying "there has to be a solution that actually works" and fotunately that turned out to be true.
If this is something you resonate with, I want to share with you that the reason why stuttering happens is because certain notes in your voice have become deactivated chopping up your speech. It's like trying to play a beautiful melody on a guitar with 1 of its 6 strings broken, it will sound choppy and just won't flow.
These vocal notes deactivations are commonly caused at some point in your journey when your spontaneous expression got suppressed, rejected or disapproved of, subtely or excessively, by others.
The empowering news are, just as you can fix the guitar by restringing it properly, you can naturally regenerate those missing vocal notes and let your words comfortably flow!
The solution is twofold:
1️⃣ Psychological Aspect: Process the suppressed emotions, as well as the root event that caused it. When your nervous system feels deeply safe, your vocal muscles naturally become more relaxed and dynamic.
2️⃣ Physical Aspect: Use targeted vocal exercises to permanently release the accumilated tension, as well as strengthening the muscles to easily produce a more captivating sound.
